Player of the weekend

Dagenham and Redbridge's Ben Strevens scored twice for the lowly Daggers in a massive win at Bury on Saturday.

The 27-year-old front man has struggled to adapt to life back in the Football League so far this season maybe not scoring as many goals as his talent would warrant.
Strevens...In the goals

The former Barnet man certainly found his form at Gigg Lane though twice finding the net to move the Daggers further from trouble.

His first a header from a Sam Saunders cross and his second a true poachers finish as he tapped home after Shakers keeper Jim Provett fumbled another trademark Saunders ball.

The Daggers went into this game with just one win in 13 in the league but Strevens truly buried that record to condemn Bury to a fifth straight league loss.

The front man joined the League Two newcomers in December 2006 after a long spell with fellow Londoners Barnet.

He scored 42 goals in total for the Bees and was part of both squds that suffered relegation and enjoyed re-promotion.

His wealth of experience has yet to really shine so far as he has often been employed as a midfielder this season but Saturday showed his boss exactly what he can do when up front.
