Player of the Weekend

Shrewsbury Town's Ben Davies is back in League Two action after a hefty lay-off since picking up an injury in the last season's play-off semi with MK
Davies...a thunderous return
Dons.

And the 26-year-old Shrews kingpin hit top form netting twice in a crushing 4-0 win over Dagenham and Redbridge.

Many more displays like this and the creative middle man will soon restore his reputation of one of the finest players in the division.

Davies, signed from League Two rivals Chester City in the summer of 2006, made his second start at Meadow Lane last week and looked near to his best but it was back at New Meadow at the weekend that he really announced his awaited reurn.

Davies inspired the Shrews to victory and a man-of-the-match displasy sees Gary Peters' side up to ninth and back in the running for a play-off berth once more.

The yellows have been in and out of form so far this term but a return to the side for the former Walsall man could add just the creative edge the Shrews have been missing.
