Darlington's Neil Wainwright

Quakers middle man Wainwright claimed his side's winner this weekend as they extended their unbeaten run to seven games.

Wainwright... tricky customer who caused Notts problems
His finely struck shot marked his third goal of the season and first since the back end of November 2006.

The feisty midfielder hasn't had it all his way this term making only 22 starts and having to come from the bench 12 times, with performances like this Wainwright will be hoping to nail down a more prominent role in the promotion chasing Darlington first-team.

Wainwright, 29, is a true fans favourite having joined the club back in 2001 originally on a one month loan, but he was eventually prized away from parent club Sunderland and has now made over 200 appearances for the club; hitting the score sheet no less than 23 times.

He enjoyed spells at Sunderland, Doncaster and Halifax earlier in his career but it is as a Darlington player that Wainwright will be most remembered.

His match winning performance this weekend puts Darlington up to ninth in the table, just six points away from a play-off place.
