Pipe back in the running?

Following injury to his ankle in Monday’s 0-0 draw with Rochdale, it seemed hugely doubtful that 21-year old winger would be featuring in any capacity whatsoever. After being replaced at half time on Monday, in a performance that brought him much praise in the form of the NCM match ratings, things looked bleak not only for Pipe himself, but for the already stretched squad resources of the club.

However, following much nurturing and treatment to help him come through the week, the Welsh under-21 captain now looks all set to run out in tomorrow’s Third Round clash, after having taken part in training this morning.

"David Pipe did some work in the gym yesterday, and he took part in training this morning. We are wary of him breaking down and being out for a while as we have some important games coming up over the next month or so," said Player/Manager Ian Richardson, speaking to the Notts County Official Site earlier today.

"Southend United next Saturday is more important, because the League is what it is all about. We all want to play in big games, but David has to be 100% right for it. He should be fine though,"

Be sure to join NCM later on today for more previews and news from the camp ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash.
