Pilks out

With second choice Tim Sandercombe also unavailable thanks to a broken finger, Notts now have no goalkeeper on their books for the crucial Meadow Lane clash.

Ian McParland has been actively searching for an emergency loan
replacement all day, and hopes to have some positive news come the close of the Football League deadline for registering players for the Saturday game which is tonight.

It is a huge blow for both Pilkington and Notts, with the keeper in the form of his career at present, picking up three clean sheets in the last seven games.

His injury was sustained in training and it not thought to be too serious, but he is defnitely out tomorrow, throwing all the pre-match preparations into chaos.

Should no keeper be signed, Matt Somner could be a contender after it was revealed last season that the midfielder was second choice behind Pilkington when Notts played without a replacement custodian on the bench last term.
