Pilkington transfer confirmed

Last updated : 22 June 2005 By Rob Davies
Pilkington (pictured right) has signed a two-year deal at Meadow Lane, conforming with the report put on NCM earlier today suggesting a deal was imminent.

The 31-year-old had turned down an offer to remain at Field Mill on reduced terms.

His move appears to signal the end of Saul Deeney's Magpies' career, with the young goalkeeper believed to have agreed terms at Sheffield United.

Vastly-experienced Pilkington - who began his career at Man Utd - is a more than capable replacement though, with the stopper signalling the beginning of a fresh era for Notts, under the astute leadership of Thordarson.

More to come on the goalkeeper's arrival still to come here on NCM.
