Physio threat could invoke fresh danger

Roger Cleary who, after a row regarding the situation with Alan Travis - who conflicted with Cleary over Craig Ramage's retirement through injury - becoming his assistant, was relieved of his duties as head physio earlier this year shortly after the club's escape from administration. And now, months after he was let go, he has decided to bring his case to the frontal - much to the disgust of the Notts fans in what looks to be just the latest cloud of doom to pass over Meadow Lane skies, Cleary now stands to claim an unprecedented £40,000 figure for unfair dismissal.

The lines are drawn, the knives are in...
Roll on happy days
The former long-standing Notts head physio is now taking his somewhat meek bid against the Bleinheim 1862 Ltd to an employment tribunal which should decide whether or not a £41,216.42 bill is to fall at the feet of the newly established owners of the Meadow Lane club: a figure compiling of damages, lost earnings and other expenses - mainly for trade courses.

Club Director, Steve Thompson told the Nottingham Evening Post: "There is every likelihood that we do not have the money to pay £40,000."

"I asked him to clarify if his [Cleary] resignation was conditional and he confirmed that he couldn't work any longer and that there were no conditions to his resignation.

"I am absolutely certain of the question I put to him and of the answer he gave me."

And now, just seven months after an original tenure of trouble, this latest bolt-from-the-blue could force the club back into the lurch should Cleary be successful in his blinding attempts of becoming what Peter Storrie was to the adoring fans just a few months ago. The case has been adjourned to September 10th.
