After a lengthy negotiation process, trialists Krystian Pearce and David Grof have both put pen to paper on one-year deals and have passed medicals at Meadow Lane, making them fully fledged members of Craig Short's side for the new season. Both had spent the previous three weeks on trial at Meadow Lane and it had been no secret that Short was keen to seal a deal for the duo as soon as possible.

Central defender Pearce, formerly of Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town, is a former youth international who is well known to Notts fans after spending time on loan at the club previously. Athletic and skillful, Pearce suffered a miserable time at Huddersfield and will be hoping to get his career back on track with the guidance of Short. He played forty five minutes in Saturday's friendly win over Cardiff City and impressed, although he is competing with Graeme Lee, Mike Edwards and Liam Chilvers for a first team spot when the Magpies face his former club on the first day of the season.

Hungarian goalkeeper Grof is well known to Short after the Notts manager's time with Ferencvaros and has turned down offers from clubs in Eastern Europe, including Hungarian champions Debrecen, to sign for the Magpies. The young stopper, who's father was an international for Hungary, has played for Hibernian previously and is eager to compete with Rob Burch and Stuart Nelson for a starting place. He played for Tamworth on Saturday as they drew 1-1 with Aberdeen, impressing former Notts manager Gary Mills and it is likely he'll head out on loan initially, allowing him to make more of an impression.
