Mills, who has also spoke today about the need to help-out young Paul Heffernan with goals, told the Evening Post: "We expect an answer today, one way or another.

"It will either be yes or no, but there will be a decision.

"Hopefully, it will be a positive one. But we have until 5pm today to sort things out. We are just waiting to hear."


Johnson agreed personal terms to take him to Meadow Lane some time ago, but Gillingham are holding the deal up, with the problem being a financial settlement for the 18 month's left on Johnson's deal at Gillingham.

If the Johnson deal were to collapse Mills would have to look elsewhere for a striker to replace Mark Stallard, with Paul Kitson's name being mentioned.
