Notts County will face Wigan Athletic following their progression to the Carling Cup second round.
The tie will take place at the JJB Stadium in the week commencing August 25.
Ian McParland's side earned themselves a place in the draw after an excellent performace against Doncaster Rovers.
Seven Championship sides were knocked out of the competition last night, with the likes of Charlton, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday all crashing out to lower league opposition.
Tonight there were no shocks, however, with Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Coventry City all progressing.
Notts came up against top-flight side Middlesbrough in the second round two years ago and progressed into the third round.
Everyone to do with the club will hope that the same will happen again, with the hope of facing one of the 'big four'.
