After last night’s Hucknall showing, it was clear that Gudjon would need to add to his strike-force before the new season if the club are to better last season’s nineteenth place finish.

Gudjon has wasted little time today in adding to his squad, as he swooped to sign recently-released Crewe striker Andy White earlier today.

The 23-year old – formerly of local rivals Mansfield Town – comes with a record of 10 goals in 37 starts for the Stags, as well as a four-in-eleven goal rate in the Championship last season.

The giant striker also enjoyed brief loan periods with Burton, Kidderminster and Boston United, scoring seventeen goals throughout his career in a hundred league starts.

The Magpies fought off opposition in League Two rivals Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient to secure the striker's services, with White signing a one-year contract earlier today.

White joins Glynn Hurst, Gavin Gordon, Shaun Harrad, Steve Scoffham and Matty Williams amongst the clubs strikers for the coming season.
