Notts set for 'survival Saturday'

Notts County face League One champions Brighton and Hove Albion at Meadow Lane on Saturday afternoon, knowing that only a victory will ensure League One football for the Magpies next season. Having picked up seven points in four games under Martin Allen they have, however, put themselves in pole position to secure safety ahead of Walsall and Dagenham & Redbridge. The East London side are at the most peril, one point adrift of the Saddlers and facing a trip to play-off semi-finalists Peterborough United. Walsall however also know that, with an inferior goal difference, should they lose to a Southampton side hoping to complete the formality of promotion to the Championship, a draw would be all the Daggers need. In the event of both sides winning, Notts would be relegated unless they were able to beat Brighton.
