NOTTS OFFER HAWORTH LIFELINE

It may not be the signing that everyone was dreaming of, but Chris Kiwomya has this afternoon added a second new signing to his squad in the form of 24 year-old Andy Haworth.

Last season was a fractured one for Haworth, who began the year with Scottish First Division side Falkirk, for whom he struggled to make an impact before having his contract terminated - citing homesickness. Haworth was then given an offer by former manager Keith Hill to reunite at Rochdale, where the pair were both involved in Dale's League Two promotion campaign in 2009.

Since then Haworth has struggled to tie down a first team place at any of his clubs, save for Bury where he was a regular in Richie Barker's side as they sought to establish themselves in League One. Come the end of the season, however, Haworth's time at Gigg Lane was running its course as he had loan spells at Bradford City and Oxford United in League Two before being released.

Haworth wasn't the only man putting pen to paper at Meadow Lane today, however, with midfielder Joss Labadie finally signing a one-year extension to his contract. The all-action midfielder finally managed to tie down a place in the Notts side at the end of last season following a successful spell on loan at Torquay United and is expected to be a key part of Kiwomya's side this season.
