Notts move quickly on the management front

It's been a whirlwind week at Meadow Lane as, after a 2-1 defeat at Colchester United, management duo Craig Short and Dave Kevan were both relieved of their duties. It seemed a fairly harsh decision with Notts having shown promise in recent weeks but struggled to turn that into consistent results, with the game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium being the latest in a long line of games which the Magpies had dominated without making it count.

Almost no sooner than Short had cleared his desk Ray Trew and Jim Rodwell were announcing his replacement in former Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan man Paul Ince, who has been without a club after leaving Milton Keynes Dons at the end of the season. Previously manager of Macclesfield Town and Blackburn Rovers, Ince had most success in his first spell at Milton Keynes where he won the League Two title.
