Spaniard Arnau Riera has spent the last two seasons on loan at SPL side Falkirk, who had been keen to complete a permanent transfer, but Sky Sports News have reported that Notts are close to sealing a deal for him. Arnau spent six years as captain of the Barcelona B side alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, but never made a first team appearance at the Nou Camp and moved to Sunderland. He made two appearances for the Black Cats but fell out of favour with Roy Keane, but has impressed in the past two campaigns whilst with Falkirk.
Kasper Schmeichel has been linked with a move away from Manchester City all summer and speculation is mounting that the former Bury loanee could be tempted by a move to Meadow Lane. A younger 'keeper could well be a priority for McParland, with both Kevin Pilkington and Russell Hoult well into their 30's.
