In a statement clarifying the club's position, managing director Geoff
Davey said: "The postponement of two home fixtures due to bad weather during the first week in January resulted in the loss of substantial revenue."
The move is said to be a temporary one.
Incoming chairman Albert Scardino has still not received the 2 million pound loan required to complete his takeover of the club.
Outgoing chairman Derek Pavis is said to be "fuming" and a club director has publically expressed his doubts about the takeover.
Pavis, and most of the board, were missing form Jimmy Sirrel's 80th birthday celebrations last week.
The news comes at a terrible time for manager Billy Dearden who is desperate to bring in new blood having seen Notts go 360 minutes without scoring while conceding 11 goals in four games.
