Notts draw Bradford

Last updated : 08 July 2004 By Richard Brown

The draw for the 2004/05 season competition which produced precious little in terms of obvious footballing spectacles spelt only a trip to yet another cash-strapped side, Bradford City for the Magpies in what they will hope to banish memories of the last time these two sides met. In the Division Two play-off final, 1996, Bradford ran-out 2-0 winners with Notts going out on a wimper, barely contributing whatsoever to the contest.

The tie will be played at Valley Parade, home of Bradford City, in the week commencing Monday 23 August, 2004.

Elsewhere in the draw, Nottingham Forest will play host to Scunthorpe United whilst Mansfield at are at home to County's previous seasons Carling Cup First Round opponents, Preston North End.
