''Notts County Football Club has been around for over 140 years, and we fully intend to be around for a good while yet.''

The club claimed the situation regarding Derek Pavis had been exaggerated, adding: ''Control of the club has passed from Derek Pavis to Albert Scardino, of which the necessary payments have been arranged.''
