Notts chasing Billy Sharp?

Last updated : 23 July 2009 By Jacob Daniel
The first of, presumably, a ridiculous amount of rumours set for the rest of this summer has come out today, with Billy Sharp being linked to a £400,000 move to Meadow Lane. The Sun (who's rumours we can no longer ridicule after the Sven debacle) have reported that Sharp is "poised" to become the first signing at the club (well, apart from Lee Hughes but he was knocking about anyway) since Eriksson's shock appointment as director of football yesterday.

Sharp has struggled since returning to boyhood club Sheffield United from Scunthorpe United for £3,000,000 and only has 8 goals in 2 seasons. He did however average over a goal every two games in his time at Glanford Park and £400,000 would represent a real bargain. Also in the article is yet another report linking Notts to Jack Lester, who the Magpies had a £50,000 bid rejected for last week.
