Notts County have finally moved to put an end to their mini striker crisis, with former loanee Jonathan Forte returning to the club for a third loan spell with the Magpies, three years after he was last at Meadow Lane. The Barbadian international, born in Sheffield, scored 8 goals in 18 appearances in a previous spell with the club, including a memorable first half hat-trick on his debut at Barnet.

The 25 year-old came from Scunthorpe United at the point, but has since moved with former Iron manager Nigel Adkins to Southampton, where he has struggled to make an impression this season as the Saints push for promotion to the Premier League. He has recently spent a short spell on loan at Preston, where he was played out wide. Forte has signed a loan deal with the club that will run until the end of the season.
