Notts beaten 3-2 by Craiova

After going 3-0 down, Notts County battled back to a credible 3-2 defeat by Romanian side Universitatea Craiova in Austria this evening. Two goals from Mihai Dina meant Craiova went in 2-0 up at the break and it looked like it could be a tough afternoon for the Magpies against a side littered with internationals.

It got worse for Notts in the second half, as Australian forward Michael Baird added a third for the Romanians. Notts struck twice in quick succession soon after however to come away with a decent result against a strong side. However, trialist Luke Rodgers who was impressive for the Magpies, struck twice as he nodded home cross from Craig Westcarr and Matt Hamshaw. The Magpies could've nicked a draw as they dominate late on but they couldn't force a third goal.

There was another unfamiliar face in the Magpies line-up also in the form of Austrian midfielder Alex Hauser, the former Rangers man and youth international has been training with the Magpies for the past two days.

Notts now have another day of training tomorrow before they travel to Salzburg to face SV Austria Salzburg on Wednesday, and NCM will again do our best to bring you updates from the match.
