Notts County manager Martin Allen has announced his retained list for the new season, allowing all seven out of contract first team players to leave the club.

It was initially announced last week that club captain John Thompson wouldn't be retained after three and a half years at the club and a further seven will be joining him moving through the Meadow Lane exit door.

Defender Graeme Lee, a mainstay of last year's title winning side, will also not be retained. He has already been linked to a host of Blue Square Premier sides, including Lincoln City, Mansfield Town and Darlington.

Hungarian 'keeper David Grof has been allowed to leave after failing to make a single appearance for the Magpies, having ended the season on loan at Mansfield. He has been joined by four forwards, including Alan Gow, the Scotsman having managed just one goal in his six months at the club.

The final three to be allowed go are Njogu Demba-Nyren, Kevin Smith and Febian Brandy. Demba-Nyren spent the last three months of the season at the club, scoring once, whilst Smith initially impressed with goals in the Carling Cup but failed to hold down a first team place. Brandy, meanwhile, failed to find the net in his time at the club.
