No deadline day transfers expected

Any hopes of Notts County sneakily capturing Tottenham Hotspur's Dimitar Berbatov from under the noses of Manchester United have been quashed, with Ian McParland ruling out any deadline day signings.

All quiet: McParland is not expecting to see any movement at Meadow Lane
Instead, County's manager has set his sights on the loan market, declaring that he has a number of potential targets.

Speaking to the club's official website earlier today, he said: "There's nothing at the minute, nothing at all.

"We have loan players in mind we would like to target, but there's nothing concrete at the moment and the window is open for a while for loans."

Any rumours that certain players will be heading for the Meadow Lane exits can also be put to bed with McParland announcing that there has been no interest registered in any of his squad members.

Crazier things have happened, however, so nobody should write off any transfer activity before midnight.
