Nicholson was an unused substitute on Tuesday, as Ian Richardson made his first start of the season at left back in place on Nicholson.
Nicholson made the left back spot his own from March onwards last season, when Ian Baraclough was suspended, and gave a number of highly impressive displays. And following good form in pre-season, he had started every game at left back until Tuesday where he was on the bench.
Nicholson will no doubt be wanting to get back to top form on Saturday, if he can force himself back into the starting 11 aganist Luton.
