Nicholson - Everyone Can Be Happy With Days Work

No doubt the victory tasted that little bit sweeter for Nicholson, as the win came at the expense of one of his previous clubs, Northampton Town.

Nicholson joined The Magpies from Northampton in March 2001, and has been a regular in the Notts side since last March where he came into the side at left back and gave some outstanding performances as the season drew to a close.

After the victory, Nicholson was keen to point out how hard everyone worked for each other, as he told the clubs website:

"I'm delighted with the result, we all are. It about time really, we created so many more chances than what we put away, we should have had the game tied up at half time with the chances we had." The Magpies left back said.

"They hit us on the break without really having a chance and it looked like it was going to be the story of our season, but Heff is a good player and scored a good goal and there was no real doubt after that"
continued Nicholson.

"We all worked really really hard as a unit today. Last week we were all over the place, but today we all worked for each other and thats how it should be from now on."

Notts have the chance to build on the victory with Divison 2 leaders Wigan coming to Meadow Lane tomorrow in the LDV Vans Trophy, followed by a tricky trip to Chesterfield on Saturday. Both games will really test the character of the Notts team, but after Saturday's improved display both Billy Dearden and the team will be confident Notts can win both games.
