New Players able to Play

The Football League have informed Billy Dearden and everyone at Notts that he is allowed to field the four new signings at Ashton Gate on Saturday. It would then be thought that it is possible for Dearden to field the out of contract players currently at the club(Brough, Richardson & Deeney).

The players concerned - centre-half Tony Barras (ex-Walsall), right-back Steve Jenkins (ex-Huddersfield and Cardiff), striker Clive Platt, and right winger Simon Baldry (ex Huddersfield) are likely to be offered a month to month contract as Billy Dearden would have been unable to field a competitive side for the opening game of the season in Bristol against the title favourites.

This is some well wanted and needed good news for Notts County as only four days ago our future was in grave danger.
