Nelson appointed Chief Executive

Nottingham-based Nelson has joined Notts from being a key player behind financial giants Capital One, and was officially unveiled earlier today.

After a few weeks of negotiations, the club called a meeting yesterday afternoon to allow all staff to meet a delighted Nelson.

"At the moment, when you talk about Nottingham and football, most people talk about Forest," the new Chief Exec told the NEP. "My job is to change that. It is going to be a pretty tall order, but there is no doubt the profile of this club can be raised.

"We want people to be talking about Notts County again, because the potential of this club is fantastic.

"Most clubs in Leagues One and Two would die for the facilities we have available to us. We will be looking to make the most of those."

We welcome Patrick on board and see this as a significant step forward by the club. For the full interview in today's NEP, click here.
