NCM Select: Adam Nowland

Last updated : 22 April 2009 By Dane Vincent

Injuries: Nowland has turned out just 20 times for Notts.
Notts' clever midfielder has not had the best of times at the club, continuing the torrid injury record that he had against his name prior to signing.

Nowland has played 21 times in all competitions since arriving at Meadow Lane in the summer, including 16 starts.

Many argued that the team looked much stronger going forward when he was operating in the central midfield berth, with his direct variety of passing.

Sadly a series of injuries has limited his involvement this term, including a back problem, which is likely to see him undergo surgery.

With a limited budget and a small squad Nowland, despite his evident talent, is a player that could be offloaded in the transfer window to make way for somebody who will feature more.

The 27-year-old has made only 71 appearances since November 2004, when he joined Forest for £250,000. He turned out just five times for the Reds.

Regardless of his ability, which has seen him perform at a much higher level, the amount of games he plays is nowhere near enough.

However, at the Fans Forum Ian McParland revealed that the former Preston and Wimbledon play-maker is playing for "near to nothing", perhaps indicating that he may be worth another gamble.

Would you keep him on the books despite his injury problems? Have you been impressed by him enough to want him at the club?
