More departures imminent

NCM understand that another player is to part company with Notts County at some point over the next twenty-four hours.

While we are not permitted to name the out-of-favour star, we can guarantee our readers that the Icelandic boss will off-load yet another member of his squad as he looks to make one final addition to his ranks before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

The club are expected to announce the arrangement tomorrow, adding to the list of those already having left the club during the January transfer window; with Glynn Hurst (right), Adam Tann, Matty Gill and Tony Scully all having been freed from the their contracts with the club.

Matty Williams – one of just a few players still available for transfer at the ‘Lane – has also been shipped out on-loan Tamworth, freeing up further funds for new arrivals.

Thordarson is also believed to be poised to replace the outbound player almost immediately, with Darlington’s Akpo Sodje, who is in discussions about a loan switch to Meadow Lane.

Sodje – who only signed for our League Two rivals in the summer – has made ten appearances for the Quakers, scoring five times.

In any case, be sure that NCM will follow-up tonight's development with the official word at some stage tomorrow (Wednesday).
