One of Billy's summer 'signings', Steve Jenkins
A quintet consisting of Clive Platt, Simon Baldry, Tony Barras, Ian Richardson and captain, Steve Jenkins have today agreed a new one-month deal with the club following the club’s failure to emerge from administration.

Jenkins, Barras, Baldry and Platt all joined the club on free transfers little over a month ago after being released by Cardiff City, Walsall, Huddersfield and Rochdale, respectively during the close season. Whereas, ‘Richo’ has been with the club, as we know, since his £200 k transfer from Birmingham City during March 1996.

These five players, along with under-21 internationals Michael Brough [Wales] and Saul Deeney [Rep. of Ireland], have been unable to sign long-term contracts due to the club’s financial situation and each are expected to do as soon as the club emerge from administration - before the Football League’s December 9th deadline.
