Minimum requirements for next season?

On the up?: McParland will have to deliver next season, surely?
This was the year that Notts County Football Club could gain some stability - on the pitch at least -with the view to progressing next time around.

Three teams received severe points deductions allowing many teams, including the Magpies, to breathe slightly easier.

With no wins in five, epitomising another year of unfulfilling performances and unimpressive results, County have once again failed to produce the goods.

Next term, however, there will be no excuses. None of the press driven clichés such as 'the players need time to gel' and 'give the manager a chance' will suffice any longer.

At the end of this season Ian McParland and his managerial staff will have had nearly two seasons to sort out matters on the pitch - surely enough for things to begin reversing fortunes?

Couple this with a team that will have played together for the majority of his stay and there should be no reason why the club should underachieve like it has for more than a decade.

Therefore NCM would like to know the minimum expectations of fans heading into the 2009/10 campaign.

The options are:

Automatic promotion

Play-Offs

Top Half

Upper-bottom half

Avoid relegation
