Mills waiting on injury headache

Stefan Oakes [pictured], one of the earlier additions to the squad under Gary Mills back in February, bounded onto the pitch on Wednesday night against Coventry before having his game cut short just minutes after his introduction through injury. However, little light has been shed on the extent of the injury although their is sufficent damage to rule-out any chance of Oakes turning out for the Magpies.

However, the inflammation of the injury looks set to complicate matters further, delaying the process of predicting his comeback date.

The latter of the midfield duo, Matty Gill, a player of similiar play-maker mould to that of Oakes, does look to stand a slightly better chance of returning for the season opener against Chester on Saturday, with his injury, on early indications, looking much more hopeful than that of Oakes.
