Mills: Striker on the way

Reports have been rife that the mystery man is Chesterfield striker Glynn Hurst, a man who was sent off when his team visited Meadow Lane earlier in the season, for a headbutt on David Pipe.

Hurst- On his way?
Mills refused to confirm or deny this, telling the Evening Post: "Hurst is a player I know about, because he played against us last season.

"As far as I am aware there are a lot of clubs after him."

Hardly sounds like a strong denial, but the fact remains Hurst is not the targetman figure the club is desperate for. Before his name sprang up, the striker was rumoured to be former Rushden frontman Onandi Lowe.

"The player wants to come here, the only thing that remains is to confirm the financial details," said Mills.

"Hopefully, by the end of tomorrow, he should be a Notts County player.

"He is a good striker and if he does agree to join it will be a good signing for us."

The striker could be the third addition to the side this week after Julian Baudet and Mike Edwards signed on Monday from Rotherham and Grimsby respectively.
