“To lose the match with their only shot on target they had in the second half is very hard to take. I really felt we were going to go on and win it, I really did. But while Mills felt Notts could go on to win the game; he was quick to praise the young side, in particular 16 year old David McGoldrick who made his first full debut in the Notts senior team.
He was pleased with the performance of the team overall but felt that Notts were the better side and more goal scoring opportunities. Mills went on to say:
