Mills: Make way for Wayne

Irish under-21 keeper Henderson's club, Aston Villa, have now given their blessing for the keeper to stay at Meadow Lane for the remainder of the season.

The talented stopper has been in outstanding form since making his debut for the Magpies at Kidderminster on the 10th August- not least during the 0-0 draw at Northampton, or, more recently, Saturday's 3-0 win over Rochdale.

However, his current loan deal expires on November 9th and the club do not have the money to extend his spell at the club beyond that.

But, with Henderson keen on the idea of staying for the season, Mills believes it may be worth getting rid of one or two in order to finance the deal.

"We have spoken to Villa and they are happy to let us take Wayne for the rest of the season," Mills told the Evening Post.

"And what pleases me more is that he is very keen to come. He is enjoying it here.

"But we will not be able to rubber-stamp the deal until we find the finances to do it.

"If that means moving a player or two out of Meadow Lane, that is what we will have to do."
