Mills hopeful of signing new players

It follows the heartbreak of watching Notts County lose their game against Bristol City at the weekend in the dying moments when Mark Goodfellow snatched a late winner for Bristol City.

But Mills believes there is still enough fight and desire to be able to avoid relegation, but also admitted that new signings were vital to enhance the playing squad available to him.

He told the Evening Post: "Ideally we will have new faces at the club in time for the weekend and I would like to have at least two new players in time for the game against Wrexham. Whether it will happen remains to be seen.”

Mills said that he does have players in mind and signing them will be the number one priority for his first week as Notts boss.

Although he also made it clear that the performance of Notts' current side on Saturday was very pleasing and could not fault them for their efforts as all players gave Mills what he had asked for prior to the game- “passion, commitment and determination”

Mills also spoke highly of the fans and hoped they had been “encouraged” by the positive performance by the side. And he made it clear that working on the current defensive problems will be the key to training this week in hope that they can reduce the amount of defensive errors that lead to conceding preventable goals.

Let’s hope Mills manages to get who he wants in time for Saturday’s game against Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground.
