Mildenhall injured the same thumb that he had an operation on in March during a training session on Friday, and after initial fears the injury is not as bad as first thought.

"I was gutted when I did it, because I thought I had torn the whole thing again," Mildenhall told the Evening Post.

"I was really scared that I would have to go through the whole operation and everything again.

"Fortunately, after seeing a specialist, it turns out that I have only suffered a sprain.

"I have been told that it could be two or three weeks before I am back in action, but I am hoping that it could be a bit quicker than that.

"I have been able to do a little bit of work, with the hand heavily strapped. But, obviously I want to get a few matches under my belt as soon as possible."
