"Mid-table from what I have seen"

"Appalling all night, what a waste of time. Hoofball again all through the game and it didn't work one little bit. Mid-table expectations from what I have seen so far."
ThraveseyCounty on Notts' 3-0 defeat at Coventry City.
Steve Thompson... already under pressure?

"Why, when we are two games into the season, is everyone asking for Thommo out? Of course this attitude isn't going to help the team is it? What we need is a positive attitude in the stands."
Trickypies in response to a few fans calling for Steve Thompson's job.

"Brentford will be an interesting game. Thommo needs to win the fans over. Makes his contracts extension silly when you see some of the comments above."
Capitalmagpie adds his opinion on those doubting Thompson.

"From what I saw, had we taken a couple of our early clear cut chances, we might have given them a better game for longer. I really liked the look of Weir-Daley, Weston and Lee up front. The strength of Lee and the pace of Weir-Daley and Weston will cause alot of League Two defences problems."
Thordardaughter on the striking options.

"Weir-Daley must be in the team, along with Weston and Smith."
Magpiemania on who he wants to see in the side.

"MacKenzie is probably the best player in the league. Class act indeed."
Magpie2010 on Notts' new midfielder Neil MacKenzie.

MacKenzie... The best in the division?
"I would always take an away point in first game of the season. I thought in patches we played some good stuff and things will only get better as the season goes on."
TuxfordMagpie after the 1-1 draw with Grimsby Town.

"Time to face it Thommo, we are not Chelsea: we do not have an Essien or Makelele. It should be obvious to you that no League Two team is good enough to play 4-3-3. Please go back to 4-4-2 while we still have a chance of promotion."
Charlespalmer wants Thompson to go back to the more solid looking 4-4-2.

"Form is only temporary, and that's what many judge players on. Class (i.e. talent/skill/awareness/ability) is permanent and you can soon tell if a player has the basic attributes to be any good."
Pies4u lays down the law.
