The skipper said “Obviously it was a shock.
“There’s no point in beating around the bush. I think everybody kind of was.
“It wasn’t something we were expecting.
“It’s difficult because as players you can’t dwell on things you just have to get on. Straight away there’s a new manager come in so you really don’t have time to dwell on things.
“But certainly for myself as the captain of the team, you are disappointed because I think any player with any sort of professionalism or any accountability, they’ll always look at themselves.
“Being one of the senior players you always look at yourself and think could you have done more? It’s a tough one.”
