McFaul to bounce back

18-year-old McFaul has failed to impress enough to force his way into the first team picture since the arrival of Gary Mills, despite having a brief run in the side back in September under the then manager Bill Dearden.

The young midfielder- who helped the youth team to FA Midlands Cup honours recently- has had numerous injuries which in turn have contributed to a poor season for the reserve regular. Injuries have also hampered his opportunity of international honours, when various knocks have forced him to withdrawal from the Ireland U21 squad on a couple of occasions.

But McFaul – who has started three games for the first team this season – still remains confident that he can be a part of the first team next season under Gary Mills, as Notts look to push for promotion from the Third Division back to Division Two.

"Billy Dearden gave me the chance to play in the first team earlier on in the season which I appreciated, and hopefully I can get back into the team soon.

I have just had a dip in form this season, which every player gets, but hopefully I'll be back in the side soon.

I will be hoping to get more first-team games under my belt next season. The new boss Gary Mills is a great manager and the club will do well with him at the helm." McFaul told the Club's Official Website.
