(6 Average)

Steven Mildenhall- 6, Was unlucky on the goal. Made a couple of decent saves that he'd expect to make. Kicking looked like it had slightly imprved.

Nick Fenton- 7, On the right of a back 3, was far & away Notts' best defender & had a good battle with Clarke. Harsh to blame him for the goal, although many will.

Tony Barras- 6, Solid & looked a threat at set pieces. Was thrown up front in the last 5 minutes where, despite having very little ball control, he caused problems.

Ian Richardson- 6, Solid as ever. The defence in general looked better then it has done & Richo got forward well when required.

Simon Baldry- 7, Looks a good signing. Supported the Strikers well & showed some clever touches. Was part of a very good first fifteen minutes & then we were down to ten men..

Shane McFaul- 7, Looked impressive. For the first half he was our best player by a long way. Drifted out of it slightly in the second but a full debut to be proud of.

Ian Baraclough- 7, One of his better games. His work rate really was excellent.
Only his distribution, which was at times poor, stopped him from being my man of the match. Was also targeted by typically dirty Peterborough players towards the end, did well not to react.

Paul Riley- 8, Is a million times better than Nicholson. Did some good work down the left, especially defensively. Was disgracefully substituted towards the end to make way for Nicholson. Shaded man of the match in my opinion.

Mark Stallard- 6, Played well up until injury. Came very close to scoring. Is now out injured for an estimated 6-8 weeks with a broken bone in his foot & needless to say, will be a major loss.

Paul Heffernan- 5, Sent off on 15 minutes for an apparent elbow. If I thought he'd deliberately elbowed Burton his mark would've been zero. In my opinion, whether he elbowed him or not, their players got him sent off with their over the top reactions.

Clive Platt- 6, Worked hard but struggled up front on his own for most of the game. Showed good effort but missed a really good chance to score Notts' first goal of the season in the first half.

Subs

Darren Caskey (On 38 for Stallard) - 7, Was booed, probably rightly, by Notts fans when he came on. In fairness, he actually had a decent game & came close to scoring at 1 point, not that that's made up for anything.

Tony Hackworth (On 65 for McFaul) - 6, Excellent work rate. Finishing still looks poor but has looked better so far this season. I am mystified as to why he now appears a massive fan favourite.

Kevin Nicholson (On 75 for Riley) - 5, Had little chance, but crossing was very poor & his defending wasn't brilliant either.

Also a word for Willis Francis. It is a mystery to me as to why he didn't get on ahead of ALL of the other subs and I feel Billy is making a mistake as far as he's concerned.
