Marvin on his way

Robinson's deal expired today, and after making very little impact on first-team proceedings during his time here, it always seemed certain Mills would let him go.

The big striker was signed on the same day as fellow forward Youssef Sofiane and midfielder Craig Pead, who also both joined for a month on-loan from West Ham and Coventry respectively.

Cheerio, Marv
However, while the on-loan duo atleast seemed to serve some purpose, Robinson always seemed a bit of a pointless signing from Mills, despite the Notts manager promising that players wouldn't be brought in "for the sake of it."

The former Derby and Chesterfield frontman, though, did make his debut as a substitute during the 0-0 draw at Northampton, before being handed his full debut the following week at home to Southend.

However, it was all a bit of a wash-out. Robinson hardly set the world alight and was withdrawn at half-time. We've not seen him since.

The 24-year-old, who had previously been on-trial at Mansfield, therefore hasn't featured for the Magpies since September 18th.

In future, we advise Mills to look for players we need, instead of signing players for the sake of it. Not being good enough for Chesterfield and Mansfield should be a clue.

We wish Marvin all the best.
