"It is a start for us, but I thought the players were outstanding," he said.
"They showed desire, effort and commitment and, on another day, we could have taken all three points.
"All the players gave everything and that should be a given.
"I said to them before the game that I wanted them to run more than the Wycombe players.
"If you do that, everything else is a bonus. We created the best chances and the players can be proud of their performance."
