Despite much speculation in the media and on the NCM messageboard, Ian McParland will not be replaced as manager of Notts County, according to the Nottingham Evening Post and chairman John Armstrong-Holmes.

The NEP has reported that they understand the Middle Eastern consortium that is set to take over the club has no plans to replace either the manager or any of his coaching staff in the short term, but it would be foolish not to believe McParland will be under immense pressure to deliver better results than he managed last season.Ian McParland

John-Armstrong Holmes has also given his continued backing to the manager, and has encouraged the consortium to give their full support to the Scot. Armstrong-Holmes maintains that McParland has done a "remarkable" job in his first 20 months in the Meadow Lane hot seat, and will transform the Magpies' fortunes if given time.

The chairman told the NEP:-

"He has done a remarkable job with limited resources since he took over.

"People will come to understand that fully in the future.

"The results haven't been great and we finished a lot lower in the table than we wanted, but he (McParland) has brought a professionalism back to the club.

"What we have done together is put the club on a stable footing and brought back the Centre of Excellence, which is invaluable for the future of this club. It has made the club a more attractive proposition to the investors."

NCM will continue to bring you the latest takeover news as it breaks.
