Notts County manager Craig Short has made his first personal signing of his era at Meadow Lane by bringing in 28 year-old goalkeeper Stuart Nelson from Aberdeen. The former Hucknall Town, Brentford and Leyton Orient 'keeper has signed a two-year deal with the Magpies and will compete with Rob Burch for the number one shirt.

Nelson joined the Dons from Norwich City and has also had spells in League One with Brentford and Leyton Orient. He will also be familiar with the area as he first came onto the radar of the Bees with his impressive performances at Watnall Road for Hucknall Town. More signings are expected within the next week as Short begins to shape his squad for the new campaign in League One.
