Simpson In Action For Notts Back In 1995
Simpson made 67 appearances for Notts, and hit just 3 goals before leaving for Wycombe in 1997 for £50,000 after failing to force himself into Sam Allardyce's plans. He did have the eye for spectacular goals, with all 3 of his goals being absoulute screamers, with his best probably against Tranmere Rovers back in 1993.

He has indentified the former Chairboys striker Stallard as the dangerman tomorrow, with the Derby born hitman on 14 goals so far this season and leading The Magpies' scoring charts.

"Stallard is one of the best strikers in the Division, without a doubt," Simpson told the Evening Post.

"I was surprised when he was allowed to leave Wycombe. He is big and strong and I am not surprised he has managed 14 goals already this season.

"He is the sort of player who can get 20 goals every season, no problem at all. And he is certainly somebody we will have to keep an eye on tomorrow. He will do damage if we don't."
He added.
