Having seen his six-week loan spell with the Magpies come to an end this week, DeBolla's contract at parent club Chesterfield was immediately terminated upon his return to Saltergate.

And, after careful consideration from manager Gudjon Thordarson, the Icelander has now decided to make DeBolla his first signing of since the opening of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old was an unused substitute for Monday's 1-0 success over Barnet, but is now available for tomorrow's clash at home to Darlington.

The former Charlton marksman scored on his Magpies debut during the 2-2 draw at home to Torquay, but failed to find the net in the remaining six first-team appearences of his loan spell.

DeBolla becomes the third player at Meadow Lane on a non-contract basis, alongside defender Adam Tann and midfielder Liam Needham.

Meanwhile, Notts County's possible move for former loanee Paul Boertien has dramatically fallen through.

As exclusively revealed on NCM yesterday, Boertien was set to join the Magpies on-loan for a second time today, but the move has now been postponed.

Thordarson though, hasn't given up total hope of signing the full-back at a later date.
