League Two team of the year announced

Despite a season where the Magpies blew away all competition, the PFA appears to have shown considerable bias towards the top four teams - and ignored those in 19th position. Scandalous.

Free-scoring Glynn Hurst, in particular, is said to be livid at the snub.

Notable names in the team include Scuthorpe's 39-year-old winger Peter Beagrie, Soccer AM favourite Lee Trundle and former Stags defender Adam Barrett.

The only hope of a tedious link towards the Magpies was Scunthorpe's Ian Baraclough being named in the XI, but the on-form veteran just missed the cut.

The full team reads:

Chris Weale (Yeovil)
Sam Ricketts (Swansea)
Adam Barrett (Southend)
Andy Crosby (Scunthorpe)
Michael Rose (Yeovil)
Lee Johnson (Yeovil)
Darren Way (Yeovil)
Kevin Maher (Southend)
Peter Beagrie (Scunthorpe)
Phil Jevons (Yeovil)
Lee Trundle (Swansea).
