League Two team of the weekend

Goalkeeper - Tommy Lee, Rochdale. The Dale stopper enjoyed an impressive game as the promotion hopefuls earned a hard fought point away at fierce local rivals Bury. The visitors dominated proceedings but three fine stops from the 22-year-old can be thanked for a share of the spoils.


Right-back - Paul Green, Lincoln City. The former Aston Villa young gun has established himself as one of the finest full-backs in the division this season. This performace showed exactly why. He was a continued attcking threat and chipped in with his first ever Imps goal to secure a valubale three points away at Morecmabe. Green is true fighter, talking of a City promotion push in the aftermath of their third straight league win.


Centre-back - Graham Coughlan, Rotherham United. Pablo Mills has often got a lot of the credit for the Millers' fine defensive play this season, and it is about time Coughlan takes a share of the spotlight. The experienced man was given the task of marking one League Two's trickiest customers this weekend, in Michael Boulding. Stop him and you stop the Stags. This is what Couglhan did, out-muscling the goal machine at every opportunity. a real thorn in Town's survival hopes.

Centre-back - Karl Broadhurst, Hereford United. The Bulls needed a win to secure promotion to League One and a clean sheet was always going to make it likely. Brooadhurst was a rock at the back as Graham Turner's side eased past Brentford 3-0 to wrap up third spot. He was the foundation of this historic win.




Left-back - Tom Williams, Peterborough United. An all action display for Posh. With Grimsby opffering little going forward, the whippy full-back took this chance to join in fully with United's fluid attacking play. Linked up well down the left-hand side with Boyd as Posh ran riot at Blundell Park.

Right-wing - Jason Puncehon, Barnet. The Bees pace ace may well be putting himself in the shop window for the summer transfer market. Albert Adomah and Cliff Akurang have taken all the plaudits in recent weeks for Paul Fairclough's side, but Puncheon showed he is still the main man at Underhill as Barnet stung form side Stockport. Puncheon was the architect as the North Londoners made it back-to-back victories.


Centre-midfield - Richard Butcher, Notts County. The Magpies middle man notched his 12th of the season and probably his most important as County secured their League Two safety woth a 1-0 win over Wycombe. The former Posh man called it his finest career moment as he capped off what has been an excellent season for the Notts kingpin.



Centre-midfield - David Rainford, Dagenham and Redbridge. The Daggers also preserved their Football League status with an impressive away win at play-off qualifiers Darlington. Rainford was at the heat of the display, pulling all the raiders' strings. He kept his cool late on to slot in a vital goal from the penalty spot.




Left-winger - Myles Weston, Notts County. A young man with extreme potential on show for Notts here. A dazzling showing as he beat five men to set up Bucther for the winning goal at Meadow Lane. If Ian McParland can keep hold of the young gun this summer, he could be a real force next term for the black and whites. His pace is frightening.



Striker - Aaron McLean, Peterborough United. Another two goals for the red hot front man. He confirmed his spot at the head of the goal scoring charts. One goal either side of the break, a complete killer to the Mariners. He will scare League One next season.




Striker - Craig Mackail-Smith, Peterborough United. One goal in the four goal rout. He is the Robbie Keane of the lower leagues with his superb link up play and helathy goal return. He will run through walls for his boss - or a big Championship move maybe? An all round great showing.
