Kevan set for Crewe?

Notts County chairman John Armstrong-Holmes has today moved quickly to deny speculation linking the Magpies' assistant boss Dave Kevan with a move to newly relegated Crewe Alexandra. The BBC had reported that former Notts boss Gudjon Thordarson was keen to be reunited with Kevan, with whom he worked at Stoke City, and that he was the most likely to replace Neil Baker at Gresty Road.

However, Armstrong-Holmes has today denied that speculation on the club's official site, claiming that Kevan is going nowhere. Ian McParland's right hand man joined the club from Burnley when McParland was appointed manager a year and a half ago, opting to link up with his former playing teammate.

Thordarson and Kevan worked together at Stoke City, which may have fuelled the speculation, however Notts have said they've received no approach for Kevan and that even if they had, he would be going nowhere.

Chairman John Armstrong-Holmes told the official site:-

"We have had no approach from Crewe for Dave Kevan and I would certainly expect a call if they were interested in him because he is under contract to Notts County."

"Having said that, there's no point in Crewe contacting us because Dave is going no-where. He and Ian McParland have unfinished business at Meadow Lane."
